After authentication is successful, we will receive authentication cookie i.e. .ASPXAUTH cookie as part of HTTP response headers of Security/AdvanceAuthentication API. See Adaptive Authentication for information on API request and response.
After successful login to the Angular - Java sample app, the user redirects to the Login Protocols page which has the description cards for all the supported login protocols provided by CyberArk Identity sample app.
In this page the first protocol described is the API only protocol of authentication.

Click on the Continue button from API only login protocol card. The application navigates the user to a page where post login functionalities are available. These are added to demonstrate how custom activities/features or use cases can make use of CyberArk Identity product. See here in more detail.

Once the client receives .ASPXAUTH cookie, all the subsequent requests carry it to show that the user is already authenticated by the server.
