SCIM Inbound Provisioning Overview

This topic describes CyberArk Identity inbound SCIM provisioning implementation (SCIM server)

SCIM Overview

SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) is an open standard for automating the exchange of user identity information between identity domains, or IT systems.

Use a SCIM server to automatically provision and de-provision user accounts in CyberArk Identity from an identity source such as a human capital management (HCM) application. For more information about SCIM, see www.simplecloud.info.

Inbound provisioning provisions users and groups to CyberArk Identity from other applications. This explanation delves into endpoint interaction to configure users and roles in the Admin Portal.

SCIM Inbound Provisioning Requirements

Before deploying the SCIM application, a few steps are needed for the Inbound Provisioning Configuration:

  • Access to the CyberArk Identity Admin Portal in order to begin the initiation process
  • Any Testing API Application (recommended is Postman, since its use is explained further on).
In order to download Postman, visit https://www.getpostman.com/downloads/.
